| Side Wall & Power Vent Systems - Auto Draft |
| Auto-Draft® Power Vent Systems Models FSAD-8, FSAD-10, FSAD-12, VSAD-8, VSAD- 10, VSAD-12 |
 |
Auto-Draft® Power Venters are suitable for side wall or roof top venting. Reduce vent diameters by up to 50%. By adding CPC-2 constant pressure controller the fan speed is automatically regulated based on a user set manifold/vent pressure, resulting in perfect draft and true energy savings. Features include simple interlock connections, adjustable pre and post purge and fan speed braking to quickly reach the pressure set point when exhaust loads are suddenly reduced. Make-up/combustion air blower and exhauster can be interlocked into a single controller. Expansion boards enable up to 14 appliances to be interlocked.

Tjernlund's automatic Auto-Draft® Power Venting System monitors vent system pressure and draws combustion gases out of the chimney, automatically maintaining a user-set draft that maximizes burner efficiency and energy savings.
Because the Auto-Draft® system can use a smaller-than-conventional chimney, material costs are reduced, decreasing the total installation cost.
Because the Auto-Draft® System propels combustion gases at a high velocity vent terminations can be shortened, remaining behind building facades and parapets.
The Constant Pressure Controller of the Auto-Draft® System can simultaneously control Tjernlund's Combustion Air IN-FORCER, modulating both combustion air and draft to match the firing rate of the heating system.
Power Venters are available in three capacities in both variable speed and fixed speed, to meet each project's requirements.

| Over 60 years design and application experience combined with microprocessor technology |
 |
The Auto-Draft® System dramatically simplifies the design of an efficient and cost-effective vent system. It is comprised of two basic components: (1) a highly efficient exterior mounted Power Venter that pulls combustion gases out of the flue; (2) The Constant Pressure Controller (CPC-2). The CPC-2 is a sophisticated microprocessor-based control. It monitors input signals from a transducer ten times a second, and regulates fan speed to maintain a constant draft regardless of the firing rate of the heating equipment, wind conditions or mechanical room pressure changes. The Intelli-Draft feature speeds up the power venter quickly without over-shooting the draft setpoint and quickly brakes to diminish speed when firing rates are suddenly reduced
With modular heating systems, the Auto-Draft® System automatically adjusts the draft according to how many heating units are firing simultaneously. Thermostatically-controlled auxiliary cooling fan extends motor life in high flue gas temperature and/or ambient applications.

| Multiple power venters and appliances |
| Also interlock with In-Forcer for a totally integrated combustion air and exhaust air management system |
 |
The CPC-2 can interlock with two appliances and tie in with building management systems. It can control multiple power venters based on a single transducer or independently control power venter(s) and combustion air In-Forcer(s) based on independent signals from 2 transducers. Additional appliances can be interlocked gby plugging EXP-4 interlock boards into the CPC-2. The EXP-4 can accept appliance control voltages ranging from millivolt to 240 VAC.

| Versatile Vent locations |
|
|
| Easy installation, programming, and service |
| Three-way safety |
 |
Power Venters can be connected directly to a roof curb or chimney. A hinged housing cover permits easy access to blower wheel for inspection or cleaning. Built-in safety lock-outs prevent unit from operating while cover is open.
The CPC-2 has a 32 character lighted display and touch keypad. Programming the draft setting and verifying system operation takes three easy steps. Functions include adjustable pre-purge and post-purge. Manual key bypasses signals from the transducer so user can operate system temporarily at a fixed setting.
The CPC-2 has redundant low draft safety lockout and over draft safety lockout. If the draft set point cannot be maintained after a 10 second span the burner(s) will be locked out. To avoid nuisance lockouts, the system, will recycle to try to reach the draft setpoint, temporarily locking out the last appliance that fired. |

| Reduced chimney diameter |
| Up to 50% less cost than natural draft systems |
| The Auto-Draft® power venting system requires a much smaller diameter chimney compared to conventional venting methods. Using the Auto-Draft® to Side Wall vent appliances can further reduce the length of vent materials required. What's more, a reduced vent diameter can slash costs associated with reconfiguring vent piping during renovations. This can translate into material and labor savings that exceed the cost of the Auto Draft® system. |
| Variety of Applications |
The ideal solution for most draft problems
High efficiency heaters with low stack pressures
Modular or modulating heating systems that require varying degrees of draft
Short chimney terminations that cannot exceed parapet height
Confined space installations that limit diameter of vent systems
Side wall venting where vertical terminations are not possible
Heating equipment additions exceed existing chimney capacities
Eliminate problems of venting both power burners and atmospheric burners into common chimneys
Bakery ovens and factory processes requiring automatic, variable speed draft or exterior mounted power venter
Long, horizontal vent manifolds |
|
| Select from six models to satisfy each project's draft requirement |
 |
Choose form three sizes of variable speed Auto-Draft® models and three fixed speed models. Combine multiple venters when the application is beyond the capacity of a single unit. One CPC-2 can control multiple power venters.
Multiple venters can be mounted on a single curb in virtually any configuration. |
|
| Fan Performance Curves |
 |
| As with any fan, selection of an Auto-Draft® Power Venter involves determination of the maximum volume of gas to be handled, the density of the gas, and the maximum static pressure against which the fan must operate.
Variable speed models controlled by the CPC-2 can operate at virtually any point to the left of the performance curve.
For Side Wall applications add 0.50" W.C. to vent system resistance to accommodate the effects of wind loading.
Auto-Draft® Power Venter performance needs to be derated from 70F performance curves to anticipated flue gas temperatures. |
